About Our Services:The main service of worship on Sundays is the Holy Eucharist. It is customary for the congregation to prepare for worship in quiet and personal prayer. All baptized persons are encouraged to receive Holy Communion. Also on Sundays:The Griswold Forum is held in the church’s Griswold Room from 9:30 to 10:15am September through May. This forum for adults addresses many varying issues of Christian faith in the present context of world issues. A Fellowship Hour follows the 10:30 service in the Griswold Room. Hospitality is very important to us. We invite members and visitors to take the opportunity to get to know one another. Liturgy:The term "liturgy" is a transliteration of the Greek word for "the work of the people." While a priest presides at worship services, we strongly encourage the involvement of lay leaders. (click here to read more about lay leaders) The Sacraments:Holy Baptism is celebrated primarily at regular services on designated Sundays throughout the Church Year. Candidates, or the parents and sponsors of candidates, should meet with the Rector for preparation. To arrange for a baptism, call the church office. If you would like information regarding Confirmation, Marriage, or Burial, please contact the church office. |
