MINISTRY DESCRIPTION – NEARLY NEW SHOP MANAGER
Reports to the Rector of Saint Ann’s Episcopal Church
Set goals in accordance with the Nearly New Shop Mission Statement.
Manage all staff (paid and volunteer) reporting to this position to effectively train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities.
Provide good will to customers, consignors, donors and volunteers.
Oversee the marking and selling of reasonably priced quality merchandise in a trustworthy environment.
Plan and carry out direct marketing and advertising activities to agreed budgets, sales volumes, and timelines.
Oversee, track, and manage the flow of intake and donated items to endure the proper distribution of sales monies.
Maintain the computerized consignor database and troubleshoot and fix problems as they arise.
Prepare and oversee the yearly advertising plan and make any changes as needed.
Track all consignor accounts and answer all questions associated with any/all accounts.
Be responsible for the preparation and distribution of all quarterly consignor statements.
Be responsible for keeping accurate and orderly records and quarterly payments of CT Sales and Use Tax.
Be responsible for all purchases/payments associated with the operation of the shop.
Be responsible for weekly reconciliation of all sales revenue and bank deposits. Provide a copy of the reconciliation to the Parish Administrator.
Be responsible for researching unusual items of better quality as well as keeping pricing in line with economic conditions.
Oversee the interior design and appearance of the shop.
Prior supervisory experience necessary.
Prior financial and bookkeeping skills necessary.
Prior retail experience necessary.
Be able to stand for significant periods of time and lift up to 20 pounds of materials.
