We are pleased to announce our new Provisional Priest-in-Charge

Dear Saint Ann's Parish,

On behalf of the Vestry of Saint Ann's, we are pleased to announce that we have called The Reverend Dr. Anita Louise Schell to serve as Provisional Priest-in-Charge for Saint Ann's Parish!

Anita has been an ordained Episcopal priest for 35 years and has served several parishes and schools with intelligence, devotion and passion. As your Executive Committee, first, and then your full Vestry met with Anita this winter and spring, it became clear to us quite quickly that Anita would be a wonderful fit for Saint Ann's Parish for the next three years as our PPIC, with the possibility to call her as Rector at that time. She and her husband Steve MacAusland are excited to be relocating from Newport to Old Lyme, where they will take up residence in our beautifully refurbished Rectory, along with their two beloved dogs. Her biography appears below.

Anita will begin her ministry here on August 1, 2019. In the meantime, we give great thanks for your patience and devotion to our parish as we worked with the Episcopal Church in Connecticut through this transition process. It was clear to us that ECCT had Saint Ann's wellbeing in mind when they referred Anita to us. We will announce the date of a celebration to welcome Anita and Steve in the near future.

In the meantime, we are ever-grateful to The Reverend Patricia Hames who so ably and lovingly has served as our clergy over the past 4½ months. We are fortunate, indeed, that Pat will stay with us through the end of July. Please thank her for her devotion whenever you see her!

We proceed through the spring, and soon into summer, knowing that God has, indeed, been looking after us.

Thanks be to God!
